Land Ahoy!

For our topic this week we've been learning about Captain William Kidd who was born in Greenock. He was one of the fiercest Pirates ever.  He was eventually captured and hanged for his crimes. His body was put in a cage and hung over the River Thames as a warning to all would-be Pirates. Nice!

Mr Jewell very kindly drew us a Pirate for our wall display and we all helped to paint it and cut it out - don't you think he looks great?

On Wednesday afternoon we made our own treasure maps. We stained the paper in tea overnight and left it to dry. Then we drew an Island and had fun making up names for the different parts of the Island. For example.... The Forbidden Forest, Misty Mountains, Cutlass Creek, Smugglers Cave, Blackbeard Cove etc..... everyone tried really hard and the maps look excellent.
