The Big Read (2)

We had great fun today in P3/4 talking and learning about children across the world who do not have the opportunity to go to school.

We looked at some Chinese and Dutch texts and tried to work out what they said. Then we talked about how a child who cannot read must feel when they look at our books. We discussed the importance to being able to read and the bad things that could happen to us if we were unable to read signs, instructions or labels. 

We then picked books from the library and had some quiet reading time in class (bliss!!)
