Today Benjamin brought in lots of African bits & pieces - we passed them round during circle time and all had a look. We loved the carved Warthog and the little thumb piano made out of a gourd - brilliant! They now have pride of place on our African display beside our Safari poems. Can you see the bongo drums made out of Goat skin? Miss Buchan brought these in for us - she lived in Kenya for a while. We're looking forward to learning about African music so we can play them!
Courtney brought in some hand made African keyrings of a Giraffe and some lizards. They are so nice and colourful and we wish we knew how to make them!
Today we had a writing morning and wrote letters to Alison from the David Livingstone Centre to thank her for talking to us yesterday. This afternoon we did the 2nd layer on our African Gourd Shaker paper mache - yucky!
