Today Kai brought in an amazing African mask that his gran had brought home from a trip to Africa. We enjoyed passing it round during circle time and peeking through the eyes! - Can you guess who is behind the mask in the photo above?
I also brought in some things from my time in Zambia including some Zambian money called Kwacha - we couldn't believe that a small block of cheese would cost 15,000 Kwacha while your average Zambia worker would get paid 10,000 a day. So cheese is 1.5 times a day's wages. Wow!
Toby & Isabelle were the first to receive my exciting new coconut scented 'well done' sticker for brilliant language work today. We've started a league table to see who's got the most stickers and Emily is out in front with 5 at the moment, followed closely by Mr McArthur who as 4 - it's all getting very exciting in P3/4 at the moment!
This afternoon we started painting African sunset pictures and I have to say they are looking good!
Excuse me while I go and tidy my sink which is full of paint trays, water pots & paint brushes (lucky me!!)

Kai looks great with the African mask. You sound like you've all had a lot of fun doing your African paintings. It was nice to have your class as an audience for our samba band yesterday!
